Common name: Lady's Mantle

Description: Herb mostly 15–20 cm high.
Leaves ± reniform, 3–10 cm wide, palmately lobed with 9–11 shallow lobes, margins toothed; glabrous to pilose, especially on lower veins; petiole 8–15 cm long; stipules papery.
Flowers c. 2.5 mm diam., greenish or yellowish, aggregated in loose cymose clusters. Sepals c. 1 mm long, longer than epicalyx. Stamens usually 4.
Achene c. 1.5 mm long, enclosed in persistent hypanthium.
Distribution and occurrence: Generally grows in alpine and subalpine tracts of the Alps. Plants were established in the Alps very early in the period of European settlement, and as a result it has often been considered to be native. Native of Eur.
