Leaves stiffly spreading, lanceolate, 6–11 mm long, 1–1.6 mm wide; margins strongly recurved; lamina whitish, strongly 3–5-veined and deeply grooved on lower surface; petiole 0.8–1 mm long.

Flowers usually 4–7 per spike, green; bracteoles usually 1–1.5 mm long. Sepals 1.4–2.8 mm long. Corolla tube 2.5–3.5 mm long; lobes 1–1.8 mm long. Ovary 4- or 5-locular.

Fruit depressed-globose, flat-topped, 2.5–3 mm diam., with short white hairs, creamy-green.

Distribution and occurrence: Grows in dry sclerophyll forest or scrub on sandstone or granite slopes, chiefly from the Warrumbungle Mtns in the northwest to Denman and Rylstone district in the east and south to the Herveys Ra.

Habitat Rocky hillsides.

Altitude 400--600 m Annual rainfall 600--700 mm

Typical local abundance Frequent--rare.

Vegetation Dry eucalypt woodland e.g. with Eucalyptus crebra, E. tenella, E. rossii; forest e.g. with Angophora floribunda, Eucalyptus punctata, Brachychiton populneus.

Substrate Sandy soils from sandstone colluvium, low nutrients.
