Acaena anserovina APNI* 
Description: Stems erect, 20–40 cm high, glabrous or sparsely hairy, stolons often present.
Leaves 11–19-foliolate; leaflets ± elliptic, 10–18 mm long, 5–10 mm wide, margins deeply lobed, upper surface green and glabrous, lower surface green and ± glabrous to glaucous with appressed hairs.
Flowers and fruiting hypanthia in globose or ovoid heads with 3 or 4 scattered on stems below; peduncles pilose.
Fruiting hypanthia with unequal spines; spines 3–6 mm long, 4–6 slender spines at the apex, and several smaller ones on the body of the hypanthia.

These plants ar hybrids between A. novae-zelandiae and the A. ovina s. lat. complex.
