Abelmoschus moschatus APNI* 
Description: Erect herb or subshrub 2–4 m high; stems with spreading to retrorse simple hairs.
Leaves variable, mostly to 15 cm long and wide, shallowly to deeply 3–7-lobed, lobes mostly toothed, ± appressed-hairy; petiole to 20 cm long; stipules to c. 10 mm long.
Flower solitary in upper axils; pedicels 2–4 cm long, lengthening to c. 12 cm in fruit. Epicalyx segments 6–10, 9–15 mm long, 1–2.5 mm wide, persistent. Calyx c. 3 cm long. Petals 3–5 cm long, yellow with a dark purple spot at base.
Capsule ± ovoid, 4–8 cm long, hairy.
Distribution and occurrence: Introduced to NC*. Probably native of N Aust. and SE Asia
