Description: Shrub or small tree to 18 m high.
Leaves opposite, rarely in whorls of 3 or 4; lamina elliptic to obovate, 3–17 cm long, 2–7 cm wide, apex rounded to acute, usually retuse, glabrous, upper surface glossy, lower surface paler, oil dots small, not crowded; petiole 1–5 cm long, whitish, jointed at apex.
Inflorescences few- to several-flowered. Male flowers 3–3.5 mm long, female flowers 4–4.5 mm long. Staminal filaments ciliate. Gynoecium pubescent.
Drupe obovoid to subglobose, 10–15 mm diam., yellowish to whitish, glabrous.
Flowering: autumn–winter.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in and on the margins of warmer rainforest, north from Mt Dromedary.
