Description: Glabrous perennial herb, usually 50–60 cm high; branches ± erect from near ground level.
Leaves ovate to narrow-ovate, 2–4.5 cm long, 5–20 mm wide, apex acute, ± stem-clasping.
Inflorescence many-flowered, 7–25 cm long, spike-like racemes, flowers many, single in bract axils; bracts 4–10 mm long; pedicels 1–15 mm long. Sepals 5–7 mm long, ± equal. Corolla 2-lipped, 15–25 mm long, yellow; spur slightly decurved, 10–18 mm long; upper lip pointed outwards, shortly lobed with recurved margin, lower lip recurved, shorter than upper lip, with densely pilose palate.
Capsule 3–7 mm long.
Flowering: throughout year but chiefly spring.
Distribution and occurrence: Naturalized in disturbed sites along roadsides and railway lines, recorded for Laurieton, Tamworth, Condobolin and Young districts. Native of Europe.
