Description: Ascending herb to 50 cm high, hirsute.
Leaves obovate or narrow-ovate, 5–16 cm long, 1–4 cm wide, obscurely petiolate, to sessile upwards, entire or irregularly toothed, grey-green or purplish.
Heads terminal and axillary, 3–6 together,10–15 mm long, 6–9 mm diameter, involucral bracts 13, 10–15 mm long, herbaceuos, grene or brown, hirsute. florets 30–50 orange-yellow.
Cypsellas 5 mm long, red-brown, pilose, pappus of bristles 7–13 mm long.
Flowering: Flowers spring to autumn.
Distribution and occurrence: Rare. Grows in sclerophyll forest on skeletal volcanic soils.
