Grevillea arenaria subsp. canescens (R.Br.) Olde & Marriott APNI* 
Description: Spreading shrub 1–3 m high.
Leaves elliptic to obovate or narrowly so, rarely linear or almost circular, 1.5–7.5 cm long, 3–15 mm wide, margins entire, recurved to revolute, lower surface velvety to villous.
Inflorescences 2–10-flowered. Perianth red, pink or orange, often green or yellow at base, pubescent to villous or subsericeous outside, bearded usually above the middle inside; limb narrow-acute, usually caudate. Gynoecium 24–32 mm long; ovary densely hairy and ± sessile; style greenish, pubescent.
Follicle usually hairy, without dark stripes or blotches.
Flowering: all months, especially spring.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in open forest on sandy soils, in rocky situations, often near creeks or cliffs; widespread but not known from the higher parts of the Aust.Alps.
