Description: Herb or subshrub 25–60 cm high, branches hairy with 2 or 4 decurrent lines of non-glandular hairs or sometimes glabrous.
Main inflorescence-bearing axes bearing branches or young shoots (sometimes very small) well above ground level. Uppermost leaves of main axes usually 2.0–4.2 mm wide usually with only 1 pair of teeth; leaves 5–12 mm long.
Outer surface of calyx glabrous except for a small area below each cleft; lower corolla lobes usually emarginate to truncate, rarely obtuse. Corolla 9.5–13.5 mm long, white or mauve, pink, purple or blue with white tube, throat or extremities often with a yellow spot behind lowest lobe.
Flowering: Flowers August–February
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in sclerophyll forest or woodland and heath on sandy and clay soils; chiefly in coastal sites south from Green Cape; poor material south of Forster and Port Stephens may belong here.
