Common name: Glen Gallic Mallee
Eucalyptus dealbata subsp. aperticola S.A.J.Bell & D.Nicolle APNI* Description: Multi-stemmed mallee; bark smooth, shed annually in strips.
Leaves grey-green, lanceolate to ovate, to 140 mm long, 17–50 mm wide, coriaceous.
Peduncles 5–15 mm long, c. 2.5–3.5 mm wide; buds 10–13 mm long, 5–6 mm wide.
Fruit hemispherical to somewhat campanulate, 5.5–8 mm long, 6.5–11 mm wide; disc level to ascending, c. 1.5–2.5 mm wide; valves (3–)4 –5.
Distribution and occurrence: Restricted to two ridge systems in the northern section of Wollemi National Park, near Denman. Occurs in shrubland on Narrabeen sandstone substrates.
NSW subdivisions: CWS
Distinguished from subsp. dealbata by the mallee habit, more strongly angular branchlets,relatively thickened peduncles and larger, usually 4- or 5-valved fruits with a broader disc.
