Description: Shrub or tree to 7 m high, sometimes multistemmed: branchlets striate
. Leaves oblong-lanceolate to elliptic, rarely oblong-obovate or oblanceolate, mostly 2.5–12 cm long, 4–40 mm wide, apex acute or obtuse, margins coarsely and mostly regularly toothed, veins raised on both surfaces, discolorous; petiole 3–6 mm long.
Inflorescence many-flowered. Petals c. 2.5 mm long. Ovary 3–5-locular, with 2, rarely 4, ovules per loculus; stigmas 3–5.
Capsule depressed-globose to ovoid, 12–15 mm long, 3–5-valved; seeds ± enveloped in aril.
Flowering: chiefly spring–summer.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in dry rainforest, north from Acacia Creek.
