Description: Small tree or shrub, to 5 m high; foliage dark green.

Leaves usually 4–5 mm long.

Female cones sessile or on short fruiting branchlets occurring singly or in dense clusters on the branches and remaining after maturity; cones ovoid, female cones 14–18 mm long, 10–15 mm diam.; cone scales thick, each tapering above to an apex usually thickened by a short dorsal point, the alternate scales very much reduced, about half as long as the intervening scales; columella short, often 3-lobed.

Distribution and occurrence: This subspecies is confined to the Corang River in the Southern Tablelands (N.S.W.).

Usually in sand near banks of streams.
