Description: Awn 6–9 cm long, column 32–45 mm long; both glumes broad-obtuse with 1–2 mm of delicately membranous tip, upper glume 11–14.5 mm long.
Flowering: Flowers spring–summer.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in woodland near the coast.
