Description: Erect bushy to spindly or straggly shrub to 3 m high; bark smooth, grey-brown; branchlets angled with ridges, becoming ± terete, ± hairy.
Phyllodes whorled or clustered, rigid, ± linear, ± straight, mostly 0.7–1.5 cm long and 0.5–1.5 mm wide, sparsely hairy or glabrous, midvein prominent, apex pungent-pointed; glands absent or 1 small gland on the margin (near base to middle or above) of some phyllodes; pulvinus < 1 mm long.
Inflorescences 1–3 in axil of phyllodes; peduncles 1–6 mm long, hairy; heads mostly shortly cylindrical, 1–1.5 cm long, pale yellow to yellow. Flowers 4-merous.
Pods ± straight, ± flat but slightly raised over seeds, straight-sided to slightly constricted between seeds, 2–8 cm long, 2–4 mm wide, papery, obscurely reticulately veined, sparsely hairy; seeds longitudinal; funicle short, expanded into a fleshy aril.
Flowering: August–October.
Distribution and occurrence: south from the Eden district. Grows in eucalypt communities and swampy areas, in sandy and black loam soils.
