Description: Trees with simple hairs; monoecious.
Leaves alternate, large, entire or lobed, palmately veined, with 2 glands at apex of petiole; long-petiolate.
Inflorescence terminal, paniculate, male and female flowers mixed. Calyx entire, splitting into 3 segments. Petals 5. Male flowers with numerous stamens. Female flowers with a 2–7-locular ovary; styles 2–7-branched, each branch bifid.
Fruit ± fleshy, 2–7-lobed.
Distribution and occurrence: World: c. 3 species, Asia. Australia: 1 species (naturalized).
