Description: Trees or shrubs; new growth rusty-hairy.
Leaves often in whorls of 3 or 4, sometimes opposite, simple, margins entire to toothed. Conflorescences terminal, raceme-like, rusty-hairy.
Flowers zygomorphic. Perianth tube slightly curved; upper tepal longer and less revolute than the 3 lower ± coherent tepals. Anthers on short filaments, connective produced into a short appendage. Hypogynous glands 4, ovoid. Ovary sessile, rusty-villous; ovules 2, attached on the side or near the base of the ovary; style rusty-villous in the lower half, dilated apically into a pollen presenter.
Fruit globose to ovoid, indehiscent, with a thin outer fleshy layer, grooved longitudinally on one side; usually 1-seeded. Fruit highly poisonous if eaten.
Distribution and occurrence: World: 3 species, endemic Australia. Australia: Qld, N.S.W.
