Inflorescence with male and female flowers in each umbel-like cluster; primary bracts usually 4, paired, [–6], with many more female flowers than male flowers. Styles simple or divided.
Capsule 3-angled in cross section, opening from base to apex.
Distribution and occurrence: World: 3 or 4 species, Australia & New Zealand. Australia: 1 species (endemic).
