Description: Shrubs or small trees.
Leaves opposite, venation obscure, petiolate.
Inflorescences axillary, mostly triads or dichasia. Flowers 5-merous, yellow. Calyx persistent. Petals elliptic. Stamens numerous, in 1 series, erect, fused into fascicles opposite the petals; anthers dorsifixed. Ovary half-inferior, 3-locular, ovules covering an axile placenta; style as long as or longer than the stamens, stigma small.
Fruit a loculicidal capsule, not exserted beyond the hypanthium, 3-valved; seeds linear-cuneate.
Distribution and occurrence: World: 1 species, endemic Australia. Australia: 1 species, endemic.
