Description: Annual or short-lived perennials.
Leaves alternate.
Flowers solitary, axillary, bisexual. Perianth 5-lobed, fused at the base. Stamens 5. Stigmas 2.
Seed horizontal, embryo annular; perisperm present. Fruiting perianth hardened.
Distribution and occurrence: World: 2 species, endemic Australia. Australia: all States except Qld.
This genus is closely related to Osteocarpum.
