Description: Terrestrial ferns; rhizome short creeping to erect, covered with scales; stipes not articulated to the rhizome
Sterile and fertile fronds similar, pinnate, pinnae articulated, veins free.
Sori linear, paralell with midvein, one on each side, continuous, indusium present
Distribution and occurrence: Two species, North and South America, Malesia, Pacific and Australasia. Australia 1 species, WA, NT, QLD, NSW. Wet ground.
Telmatoblechnum was proposed in Perrie et al. (2014) Molecular phylogenetics and generic taxonomy of Blechnaceae ferns. Taxon 63: 745-758, and has been universally adopted.
