Description: Small trees, evergreen, indumentum of simple hairs.
Leaves alternate, imparipinnate.
Inflorescences axillary, short panicles. Flowers bisexual, usually 4- or rarely 5-merous. Calyx short, deeply lobed. Petals free. Stamens usually 8, staminal tube cupular, apex irregularly and shallowly lobed; anthers inserted towards top of tube. Ovary 2- or 3-locular; ovules 2 per loculus.
Fruit a 2- or 3-valved loculicidal capsule; each loculus usually 2-seeded; seeds partly surrounded by a common fleshy aril.
Distribution and occurrence: World: 1 species, endemic Australia. Australia: Qld, N.S.W.
