Description: Annual or perennial herbs with a sparse mealy indumentum.
Leaves flat, the basal leaves forming a rosette, the cauline leaves alternate.
Flowers bisexual and unisexual in axillary clusters. Perianth segments 4, hardened and erect in fruit. Stamen 1. Style 2-branched.
Seed lenticular; pericarp thick and hard, testa thin; embryo horseshoe-shaped.
Distribution and occurrence: World: 1 species, endemic Australia. Australia: 1 species, endemic.
