Description: Erect annual herbs with slender taproot, ± glabrous.
Leaves 1–3-pinnate, petiolate.
Inflorescence terminal and axillary, usually a compound umbel; bracts leaf-like or absent; rays few; bracteoles several; pedicels slender or absent. Flowers bisexual, white. Sepals minute or absent. Petals oblong to obovate with inflexed apex. Stylopodium depressed.
Fruit subcylindrical, laterally compressed, with a long beak distinct from seed-bearing part of fruit; carpophore entire or divided; mericarps with prominent fine ribs.
Distribution and occurrence: World: c. 12 species, Mediterranean region. Australia: 1 species (naturalized).
