Description: Annual or biennial herbs.
Flowers in racemes. Sepals half-spreading, the inner pair slightly saccate. Petals shortly clawed.
Silicula indehiscent, differentiated into 2 segments; lower portion cylindrical with 0–2 seeds, upper segment globose, ribbed, 1-seeded, beaked.
Distribution and occurrence: World: 2 or 4 species, Europe, Mediterranean & western Asia. Australia: 1 species (naturalized).
