Description: Medium-sixed to large ferns; rhizomes stout.
Fronds with a pair of fleshy stipules at base of stipe, pinnately compound, with base of pinnae pulvinate; veins free, simple or forked.
Sporangia coalescent in a double row to form oval to oblong or rounded synangia along each side of the midvein.
Distribution and occurrence:
Marattia has been previously applied to species of Ptisana in Australia. Marattia is not now considered to occur in Australa. K.L. Gibbons May 2022.
