Description: Herbs, perennial, ± glabrous.
Leaves compound.
Inflorescence racemose. Sepals 2 and free or absent. Petals 4, 2 inner similar, oblong, widened and coherent at apex, 2 outer ones dissimilar, the lower usually ± saccate at base, expanded into a broad limb at apex, the upper with distinct spur at base and ± expanded limb at apex. Stamens 6.
Fruit an oblong capsule, 2-valved, 2–many-seeded; seeds arillate.
Distribution and occurrence: World: 2 species, native to Europe. Australia: 1 species (naturalised).
Pseudofumaria was formerly included in the genus Corydalis and placed in the family Fumariaceae.
