Description: Woody climbers, rarely scandent shrubs, evergreen.
Leaves opposite, imparipinnate, tendrils absent.
Inflorescences terminal thyrses, also in upper axils, sometimes appearing racemose. Calyx cup-shaped, shallowly lobed. Corolla tubular; lobes imbricate. Stamens 4, didynamous, usually included in corolla tube.
Fruit an oblong-obovoid capsule, stipitate, beaked; seeds flat, ± circular, thinly winged all round.
Distribution and occurrence: World: 6 species, Australia, Malesia, New Caledonia. Australia: 4 species (3 species endemic), mainland States.
