Description: Evergreen trees, dioecious; buds and young shoots usually resinous; indumentum of simple hairs.
Leaves alternate, imparipinnate or paripinnate.
Flowers unisexual in axillary panicles. Sepals 5, free, half as long as petals. Petals 5, free. Staminal tube short with irregularly lobed margins forming a frill, or filaments free in upper half and terminated by 2 appendages; anthers 8–10, inserted inside margin apically between appendages; staminodes slender. Ovary mostly 2- or 3-locular; ovules solitary.
Fruit a 2- or 3-locular drupe, mesocarp thin, fleshy or leathery, endocarp very thick, hard and woody; seeds without an aril.
Distribution and occurrence: World: 5 species, endemic Australia. Australia: Qld, N.S.W., N.T., S.A., W.A.
