Description: Small shrubs.
Leaves alternate, sessile, subterete.
Flowers solitary, axillary, bisexual. Perianth segments 5, fused almost to apex. Stamens 5. Stigmas 2.
Fruiting perianth hardened, with 5 spine-like erect appendages. Seed vertical; perisperm abundant; embryo annular.
Distribution and occurrence: World: 2 species, endemic Australia. Australia: Qld, N.S.W., N.T., S.A., W.A.
