Description: Terrestrial ferns; rhizome short, creeping or ± erect, covered with narrow scales.
Fronds 2–3-pinnate, the lower pinnae somewhat reduced in size; hairs on the surface slender, acicular; scales sometimes present along the axes on the undersurface; veins free, not reaching the margin of the segment.
Sori small, circular; indusia small, persistent.
Distribution and occurrence: World: 9 species, Madagascar to Asia & Pacific. Australia: 2 species, Qld, N.S.W.
