Description: Terrestrial ferns, arborescent with one or more crowns, stipe bases not persistent on trunk.
Fronds long; stipe glabrous or bearing a few hairs, winged at the base with 2 stipular expansions; lamina 2–3-pinnate, membranous; veins free.
Fertile pinnae borne toward the base of the lamina, not reduced in size; sporangia clustered in patches on the pinnae, less abundant than in Todea.
Distribution and occurrence: World: 7 species, Australia, New Guinea, Pacific. Australia: 2 species
