Description: Trees covered with small scurfy scales, especially on the younger parts, sometimes glabrescent with age.
Leaves entire.
Flowers solitary, axillary. Epicalyx segments 3 or 4; usually falling very early. Calyx lobes 5. Staminal column shorter than or equal to the petals, stamens numerous. Petals showy. Ovary 5-locular, several ovules per loculus; style 1; stigmas 5.
Fruit a capsule; seeds glabrous.
Distribution and occurrence: World: 2 species, endemic to Australia (1 from Lord Howe and Norfolk Islands and 1 from Queensland).
