Description: Shrubs or tall shrubs.
Leaves opposite, entire.
Flowers mostly solitary; hypanthium ridged, rugose or papillose, rarely smooth, usually tapering into the flower stalk; sepals 'compound', the inner lobe thin-textured, obtuse, and the dorsal protuberance thickened and often acute; stamens 4–13, located towards the margins of, or opposite, the sepals, weakly geniculate.
Capsules 3-locular, thin-walled; seeds flattened, truncately D-shaped, radially arranged on a low placenta.
Distribution and occurrence: A genus of 6 species. Distribution: New South Wales to northern Queensland.
Species in this genus were formerly included in Babingtonia but the latter genus is restricted to Western Australia.
