Flowers axillary, solitary. Ovules and seeds 1 in each loculus.
Fruit globose or ellipsoid, indehiscent, a woody nut, covered by hard spines, without an apical beak.
Distribution and occurrence: World: 4 species, Australia, Malesia, NEast Africa. Australia: 3 species (2 species endemic), Qld, N.S.W., S.A., N.T., W.A.
