Description: Herbs or subshrubs.
Leaves alternate, simple or 1-foliolate; stipules lanceolate, linear or minute.
Flowers solitary, axillary or in loose terminal racemes; bracts and bracteoles linear to linear-ovate. Calyx deeply toothed, the 2 upper teeth united almost to the top. Petals clawed, striate; standard circular, emarginate, longer than the wings; wings ovate, ± falcate; keel incurved, ± equal to wings. Stamens free. Ovary sessile, pubescent; ovules numerous; style incurved, filiform; stigma minute, terminal.
Pod oblong, linear or narrow-ovate, acute, usually turgid, pubescent; seeds reniform, with a reticulate surface, without an aril.
Distribution and occurrence: World: c. 14 species, endemic Australia. Australia: Qld, N.S.W., N.T., W.A.
