Description: Small to large trees, with simple hairs, unarmed.
Leaves alternate, simple, margins entire.
Inflorescences terminal, paniculate. Flowers bisexual. Sepals 5, fused into a lobed cup. Petals 5, valvate, not persistent in fruit. Stamens 10, free, divergent. Ovary usually 5-locular, obscurely 5-lobed, ± pyramidal; styles fused, arising terminally from ovary; stigma scarcely differentiated from style; ovules 1 in each loculus.
Fruit a drupe.
Distribution and occurrence: World: 4 species, New Guinea, Australia, New Caledonia. Australia: 2 species (endemic), Qld, N.S.W.
