Description: Tall biennial or perennial herbs, sometimes annual, glabrous.
Leaves 3–4-pinnate, with segments filiform and a long sheathing base to the hollow petiole.
Inflorescence a compound umbel; bracts and bracteoles usually absent. Flowers bisexual, yellow. Sepals forming a thickened rim at the ovary apex. Petals oblong to obovate, apex rolled inwards. Stylopodium conical.
Fruit rectangular-ovoid, slightly compressed laterally, glabrous; carpophore bifid; mericarps 5-ribbed.
Distribution and occurrence: World: 5 species, Mediterranean, Europe & western Asia. Australia: 1 species (naturalized).
