Description: Epiphytic or growing on rocks; the rhizome creeping, thick and fleshy, covered with scales.
Fronds of two kinds; sterile ('nest') fronds that are sessile and become brown and papery, and stipitate fertile fronds; venation reticulate.
Sori circular, without indusium.
Distribution and occurrence: World: c. 15 species, Africa to Pacific, China to Australia. Australia: 3 species, Qld, N.S.W., N.T., W.A.
