Description: Terrestrial ferns; rhizome long-creeping, covered with hairs, roots slender, fibrous.
Fronds tall, uniform, branched 1 or more times, each primary lateral axis being further dichotomously divided; dormant leaf buds in the forks, covered with hairs; pinnae pinnatifid, rarely pinnate; veins free, branched 2–5 times.
Sori without indusium, usually composed of 8–15 sporangia.
Distribution and occurrence: World: c. 12 species, pantropical. Australia: 1 species (native).
