Description: Perennial herbs with a thick fleshy taproot, sparsely bristly.
Leaves numerous in a dense basal rosette; lamina palmately lobed; petiole coarsely bristly.
Inflorescence usually an irregular, simple umbel, 3–12-flowered; bracts unequal, united at the base. Flowers bisexual, white. Sepals ovate to elliptic, similar to petals, both white, caducous. Stylopodium rounded-conical.
Fruit flattened dorsally; carpophore short; mericarps ± circular or angular with lateral ribs somewhat thickened.
