Description: Epiphytic ferns, rhizome long-creeping, covered with scales; stipes borne in 2 irregular rows on the rhizome, articulated to rhizome.
Fronds with lamina leathery, pinnately compound; veins free.
Sori submarginal; indusium cup-shaped, opening towards the margin.
Distribution and occurrence: World: 34 species, SE Europe, Africa, Asia to Polynesia. Australia: 4 species, Qld, N.S.W., Vic., Tas.
