Description: Terrestrial herbs, sympodial; roots filamentous; tuberoids paired and often produced at the tips of stolons.
Leaves well developed, green basal, 1 per shoot, convolute, not petiolate.
Inflorescence racemose, 1–several-flowered, terminal. Flowers resupinate, resembling insects. Dorsal sepal free, broader and slightly longer than lateral sepals. Lateral sepals free. Lateral sepals free, narrower and slightly shorter than dorsal sepal. Labellum free, attached at base of column; lamina not lobed, with entire to finely toothed margins, with 2 basal calli and 2 flat longitudinal ridges extending from the base to near the apex. Column lacking free filament and style; column wings fused to column, expansive only near the tip. Column foot absent. Anther erect, parallel to the axis of the column, persistent. Pollinia 4, soft and mealy. Stigma entire. Rostellum ventral.
Distribution and occurrence: World: 5 species, Australia, New Zealand. Australia: 4 species, (endemic), all States except N.T.
