Description: Tall annual or biennial herbs with a fleshy taproot, glabrous; stems spotted.
Leaves 2–4-pinnate, lobes ovate to lanceolate, toothed or pinnatifid.
Inflorescence a compound umbel; bracts and bracteoles ovate to lanceolate or linear; rays stiff. Flowers bisexual, white. Sepals absent. Petals obcordate, the apex inflexed. Stylopodium thick, flat; styles recurved.
Fruit broad-ovoid to ± globose, slightly flattened laterally, glabrous, each mericarp prominently 5-ribbed, vittae absent.
Distribution and occurrence: World: 2 species, 1 species cosmopolitan, 1 species southern Africa. Australia: 1 species (naturalized).
