Description: Trees, often polygamous, branchlets hairy.
Leaves alternate, paripinnate, leaflets alternate to opposite, rachis ending in a spur.
Inflorescences thyrsiform. Flowers bisexual and/or unisexual. Calyx shortly cupular, lobed. Petals 5, shortly clawed; scales 2, hairy, crestless. Stamens 8; filaments hairy. Disc cupular. Ovary 2-locular, 1 ovule per loculus.
Fruit depressed-globose, indehiscent, pericarp fleshy; seeds subglobose, aril absent.
