Description: Annual, rarely perennial herbs, glabrous.
Leaves succulent, petiolate, upper leaves reducing.
Flowers in racemes. Sepals erect. Petals long-clawed.
Silicula indehiscent, corky, differentiated into 2 segments; upper segment conical to flattened, 1-seeded; lower segment usually 1-seeded; seeds of 2 forms.
Distribution and occurrence: World: 7 species, Northern Hemisphere. Australia: 2 species (naturalized), Qld, N.S.W., Vic., Tas., S.A., W.A.
