Description: Small trees.
Leaves alternate, simple; stipules variable, caducous.
Inflorescences axillary, flowers solitary or in few-flowered panicles. Sepals 5 or rarely 6 or 7, persistent and enlarging in fruit. Petals 5, not persistent. Stamens 10, unequal; anthers basifixed, bristle-like. Carpels 5; ovule solitary in each carpel; styles 5, free.
Fruit a cluster of up to 5 drupes, each 1-seeded.
Distribution and occurrence: World: 1 species, endemic Australia. Australia: 1 species, endemic.
