Description: Shrubs.
Leaves alternate, rarely subopposite or nearly whorled; stipules present.
Flowers solitary, axillary, bisexual; peduncle with 2 apical, subopposite bracteoles. Sepals and petals 5, imbricate. Disc shallowly cupular [or flat]. Stamens 5, on margin of disc; filaments incurved; anthers introrse, with a broad connective. Ovary ± immersed in disc, 2- or rarely 3-locular with 2 ovules per loculus.
Fruit a 1- or rarely 2-seeded capsule; seeds arillate.
Distribution and occurrence: World: 2 species, endemic Australia. Australia: Qld, N.S.W.
