Description: Annual or biennial herbs with a taproot, glabrous, strongly aromatic; stem simple at the base, branched and spreading above.
Leaves sheathing at the base, 3–4-pinnate with long filiform lobes.
Inflorescence lax, a compound umbel; rays numerous; bracts and bracteoles absent. Flowers bisexual, yellow. Sepals absent. Petals oblong or ± circular, apex inflexed. Stylopodium conical.
Fruit ovate or elliptic, compressed dorsally; carpophore bifid; mericarps 5-ribbed, the dorsal ridges slender, the lateral winged.
Distribution and occurrence: World: c. 4 species, Europe & Asia. Australia: 1 species (naturalized).
