Description: Submerged, free-floating aquatic herbs with simple or sparsely branched stems.
Leaves in whorls of 6–9, basally fused; lamina modified into a trap of ± semicircular upcurved halves, with digestive glands; apical bristles sensitive; petiole swollen.
Flowers axillary, solitary. Sepals, petals, stamens and styles 5.
Capsule membranous.
Distribution and occurrence: World: 1 species, Europe, Africa, Asia, Timor, Australia. Australia: 1 species (native).
