Description: [Shrubs or] small to large trees, with simple hairs, unarmed.
Leaves opposite, usually palmately 3-foliolate; leaflets with margins entire or crenate.
Inflorescences axillary [or terminal], paniculate. Flowers bisexual. Sepals usually 5, basally fused. Petals usually 5, imbricate, free, not persistent in fruit. Stamens usually 10, free, divergent. Carpels usually 5, basally fused, each with a prominent upper abaxial gland; styles fused, arising from about the middle of the carpels; stigma scarcely differentiated from style; ovules 2 in each carpel.
Fruit of 1–5 basally fused cocci; cocci transversely ridged, with truncate apices; seeds released (probably forcibly) from dehiscing cocci, shiny, brown.
Distribution and occurrence: World: 2 species, endemic in Australia. Australia: Qld, N.S.W., Tas.
